We are staying at the Sahara Casino Hotel, where the Beatles stayed during the sixties!
This is me updating my blog in the hotel room. I'm holding up the keycard to my room, #1640

I must say I'm having a lot of fun so far. We already did go to an outlet mall, called the "Fashion Outlet". There's this giant American Eagle outlet that I unfortunately didn't thoroughly look through. I remember there were 3-dollar t-shirts, quite a bargain. I bought a jar of moisturizer at the Bath and Body Works outlet. Normally I get the el-cheapo Target stuff, but over here, the same price gets me this great smelling cream in a cool glass jar. I will try some of this on tonight and see how it works.
After we settled down, we went to the buffet inside Sahara. I must say the advertising throughout the casino for this eatery is misleading. There were no lobsters or crab legs to be found. The food is so-so, but they did happen to have cheese cakes. I've been craving cheese cakes for a while and I'm glad I got my fix. Yeah :)
We then roamed several different casinos and trying our luck with the slot machines. We went to The Venetian, Wynn, and of course Sahara. My aunt and cousin were having very good lucks with these things. One dollar goes in, and twenty dollars come out. My cousin was able to use his winnings to buy souvenirs and gave me $20 to try my luck. Being a computer engineering student, I knew the odds of winning from these machines are pre-programmed to be slim to none, so I only tried some slots, watched the pretty lights and hear the “ding ding ding” as the machine ate up my $4. I then used the rest of the money on the roulette table. I actually don’t really know how it works, but seeing that I can bet on either the red or black color, I decided to give it a shot. Result: a very exciting game, but I didn’t win at the end.
I went back to the room and was surprised to find an open WIFI access station (not the usual pay-per-use one from the hotel). The signal is low and the receiption is spotty, but it worked so I could update my blog. Sahara charges $12 for a single day of WIFI internet access, I think it’s highway robbery!
I hope I’ll have some more fun later today. We planned to head back on Thursday and I hope there will be enough time to make this trip memorable.
